The 9x5 Opening Night...

.....is this Friday! You can browse and bid for artworks here online.
I'll be there at SPACE 39, Lvl 2, 39 Little Collins St, Melbourne, Friday night for the opening (there's even going to be carnival performances!) and also on Saturday for the Illustrators Market where I will have prints and cards for sale.

Carnivale 9x5

Here is my piece for the Illustrators Australia annual 9x5 exhibition.
The theme is Carnivale and the show will run over the second weekend in November.
I'll post the details closer to the opening.

This Is Melbourne Exhibition

I've been invited to take part in This Is Melbourne, an exhibition of limited edition prints by Melbourne creative professionals.
The show features all kinds of fantastic artists, including Makatron,  Phibs, Shaun Tan, Andrea Innocent and Emma Leonard.  I'm stoked to be amongst such a talented group.
The opening is next Wednesday night at the Bella Union, 6-8pm.  Everyone's welcome!

I love old stuff.

I managed to sneak a couple of photos at the Wonders of Ancient Mesopotamia exhibition last night.
This fellow here is King Ashurnasirpal II.

Historians tell us he was king of Assyria from 883-859 BC but, according to the man himself, he was also King of the Universe, so I don't know who to believe.  He does have impressive wings.
The exhibition is on at the Melbourne Museum for a few more weeks so, if you love old stuff like I do, go along and have a look.

What's been happening

I know I haven't been blogging or Facebooking much lately however I have been making new work, so that counts, right? I've finished a couple of new paintings for myself, a piece for another print exhibition that will be part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival (I'll tell you all about that next week) and I've just about finished putting the final touches on my Etsy shop, as well as keeping up with my illustration work.  I'm also hoping to have a new painting ready to submit for a show at Off The Kerb gallery, but we'll see how that one goes. 

This is one of the new paintings.  It's kinda how I've felt the past few months but I keep thinking about how much I enjoy reading other people's blogs (the interesting ones, at least) so I will try to show and tell more often.
